Third Party Validation of the Hyper Scratcher’s Performance

Test Results for the Hyper Scratcher Borehole CleanOut Tool Released

The Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute has released the field test results for the Hyperscratcher borehole cleanout tool.  The Hyperscratcher Tool was tested in wells from various basins that had reported paraffin, scale and asphaltene build-ups that were adversely affecting production.

Initially designed in California in the 1980s, the Hyperscratcher tool was developed to remove wellbore debris to provide a clear path for production.  The tool incorporates multiple cleaning methods including jets for spotting water, acid, or other chemicals and wire brushes for borehole casing cleaning.

Test results show use of the Hyperscratcher Tool significantly improved production in 7 of the 8 wells tested with production improvement varying from 20% to 120%.

Test results can be found here

EORI Analyzes Production Enhancement of HSI’s Hyper Scratcher

The Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI), as part of their efforts to test emerging oil and gas technologies, analyzes various downhole technologies for the purpose of improving well performance and enhancing production.

HSI’s Hyper Scratcher is a production enhancement tool that the EORI is interesting in studying for that purpose.  Results of test wells serviced by the Hyper Scratcher will be provided to the EORI for analysis and the results will subsequently be available to the broader Wyoming oil and gas community.

There are incentives to participate in this study not the least of which is the ability of the operator to retain any production increase due to the performance of the Hyper Scratcher.

If interested in participating, contact Melody Weinhandl at (307) 234-1776.

For more information visit “EORI Paraffin and Scale Removal” at https://www.eoriwyoming.org/eori-news/84-call-for-projects-regarding-paraffin-and-scale-removal.

As a state agency, the mission of the Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute is to facilitate a meaningful and measurable increase in recoverable reserves and production of oil and natural gas in Wyoming.  Key to this goal is the effective and efficient transfer of relevant technology, information, and knowledge to Wyoming producers.  As part of this mission, EORI is interested in helping to test different technologies and methodologies that can improve and enhance production and to pass on the results of those tests to the oil and gas industry.

Hyper Scratcher, Inc. Awarded Patent for Hyper Scratcher Tool and Process

Hyper Scratcher, Inc. announced that it has received official notification from the United States Patent and Trademark Office that the company has been issued a key patent covering their down hole tool and system called Hyper Scratcher.

This newly awarded patent, U.S. 8,356,662, in the category of Devices, Systems, and Methods relating to Down Hole Operations, claims, among other things, a device and a system for improving pumping operations through a casing or lining; the Hyper Scratcher tool is a mechanical device that consists of bristles for scrubbing the casing and jet nozzles for high pressure fluid against the interior surface of a well casing and optionally into perforations of the well casing.
